My Streak Disappeared!

Understand why your streak may have reset and how to maintain it going forward.

How Streaks Work

Your daily streak on Ilm Al Lughah tracks consecutive days of learning activity. To maintain your streak, you need to complete at least one meaningful learning activity each day — this includes completing a lesson, finishing a quiz, or reviewing flashcards. The streak resets at midnight in your local time zone, so make sure you complete an activity before the day ends.

Why Your Streak May Have Reset

The most common reason for a streak disappearing is missing a day. If you didn't complete any learning activity before midnight, your streak resets to zero. Other possible reasons include: time zone confusion (if you traveled or your device's time zone changed), a session expiration where your activity wasn't logged because you were signed out, or a rare server sync issue where your activity wasn't recorded properly.

Can My Streak Be Restored?

We understand how disheartening it is to lose a long streak. Currently, streaks cannot be manually restored, as the system is designed to encourage consistent daily study. However, we're considering adding a streak freeze feature in a future update, which would allow you to protect your streak for one missed day. Stay tuned for announcements about this feature in our platform updates.

Tips to Maintain Your Streak

Here are some tips to keep your streak going strong: 1) Set a daily reminder on your phone to study. 2) Even on busy days, a quick 5-minute flashcard review session counts toward your streak. 3) Study at the same time each day to build a habit. 4) Make sure you're logged in when studying so your activity is recorded. 5) Check your streak counter on the dashboard to confirm your activity was logged for the day.
