Dark Mode Display Issues

Fix problems with dark mode not working correctly or causing visual glitches.

Enabling & Disabling Dark Mode

Ilm Al Lughah offers a dark mode to reduce eye strain during evening study sessions. You can toggle dark mode from your settings page or by clicking the theme toggle icon (usually a sun/moon icon) in the navigation area. Dark mode changes the background to darker colors and adjusts text and UI elements for comfortable reading in low-light environments.

Common Dark Mode Issues

Some users may experience visual issues when using dark mode, such as: text being hard to read against the dark background, images or icons not adapting to dark mode, Arabic text being too faint, or parts of the page still showing light colors. These issues can occur if your browser or operating system's dark mode settings conflict with our platform's dark mode implementation.

Fixing Dark Mode Conflicts

If dark mode looks inconsistent, try these steps: 1) Toggle dark mode off and back on in your settings. 2) Clear your browser cache to ensure the latest styles are loaded. 3) Check if your operating system has its own dark mode enabled — having both OS and platform dark mode active can sometimes cause conflicts. 4) Some browser extensions (like Dark Reader) apply their own dark mode, which can conflict with ours. Disable any dark mode extensions when using our built-in dark mode.

Reporting Dark Mode Issues

If you encounter specific pages or elements that don't look right in dark mode, please let us know. Dark mode requires careful styling across hundreds of components, and occasionally some elements may be missed. Send us a screenshot showing the issue, the page URL, and your browser information, and we'll prioritize the fix. We're committed to making dark mode a fully polished experience for all our night-owl learners.
