Accessibility Features on Our Platform

Learn about the accessibility features available on Ilm Al Lughah.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

At Ilm Al Lughah, we believe that learning Arabic should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. We are committed to making our platform as inclusive as possible by following WCAG 2.1 guidelines and continuously improving our accessibility features. Our goal is to ensure that all learners can fully engage with our courses, quizzes, and flashcards.

Keyboard Navigation

Our entire platform can be navigated using keyboard only. Use the Tab key to move between interactive elements, Enter or Space to activate buttons and links, and Arrow keys to navigate within menus and quiz options. Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements so you can always see where you are on the page. Skip-to-content links are available at the top of each page to bypass navigation and go directly to the main content.

Screen Reader Support

Ilm Al Lughah is designed to work with popular screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), and TalkBack (Android). All images include descriptive alt text, form fields have proper labels, and ARIA landmarks are used throughout the platform to help screen reader users understand the page structure. Arabic text is properly tagged with language attributes to ensure correct pronunciation by screen readers.

Visual Accessibility

We offer several features to support learners with visual needs: Dark mode reduces eye strain in low-light environments, high contrast options make text easier to read, and our font size controls allow you to increase text size without breaking the layout. Our color palette has been tested for sufficient contrast ratios to ensure readability for users with color vision deficiencies. If you encounter any accessibility barriers on our platform, please contact us — we take accessibility feedback seriously and will work to address issues promptly.
