Common Flashcard Issues
Our smart flashcard system uses spaced repetition to help you memorize Arabic vocabulary, grammar rules, and Tajweed concepts effectively. If you're experiencing issues — such as cards not flipping, Arabic text not displaying, review sessions not starting, or progress not saving — there are several common causes and solutions to try.
Cards Not Flipping or Displaying
If flashcards aren't flipping when you click or tap them, the issue is usually related to JavaScript or browser compatibility. Make sure JavaScript is enabled and that you're using an up-to-date browser. Try a hard refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R) to reload the flashcard component. If Arabic text on the cards isn't displaying correctly, see our article on "Arabic Text Not Displaying Correctly" for font and encoding solutions.
Spaced Repetition Not Working as Expected
Our spaced repetition algorithm schedules card reviews based on how well you know each card. If you feel cards are appearing too frequently or not frequently enough, make sure you're rating your confidence honestly after each card (e.g., "Easy," "Good," "Hard," "Again"). The algorithm learns from these ratings. If you always mark cards as "Easy," they'll appear less often. Cards you haven't reviewed in a while may appear when you next start a session, which is intentional — the algorithm brings them back before you're likely to forget them.
Review Sessions Not Saving
If your flashcard review sessions aren't being saved, ensure you're logged in and have a stable internet connection. Flashcard progress is saved after each card review, so even if your session is interrupted, previously reviewed cards should be recorded. If progress consistently doesn't save, try clearing your browser cache, then start a new review session. If the issue persists, report it to our support team with details about your browser and the specific flashcard deck you were reviewing.
