Clearing Your Browser Cache

Step-by-step instructions for clearing your browser cache to resolve common issues.

Why Clear Your Cache?

Your browser stores temporary files (called "cache") to help websites load faster. However, sometimes this cached data becomes outdated and can cause problems, such as pages not displaying correctly, old content showing up, or interactive features not working. Clearing your cache forces the browser to download the latest version of our platform, which often resolves these issues instantly.

How to Clear Cache in Google Chrome

Open Chrome and press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (Mac). In the dialog that appears, select "Cached images and files" from the checkboxes. You can choose the time range — we recommend selecting "All time" to ensure all outdated files are removed. Click "Clear data", then refresh the Ilm Al Lughah page.

How to Clear Cache in Firefox & Safari

In Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete, select "Cache" from the list, choose your time range, and click "Clear Now." In Safari, go to the Safari menu → Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data, search for our site, and remove the cached data. On mobile Safari, you can clear cache from Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.

When to Clear Your Cache

We recommend clearing your cache if you notice any of the following: lessons not loading new content, your progress appearing outdated, styles or layout looking broken, or after we announce a major platform update. You don't need to clear your cache routinely — only when you're experiencing issues. Clearing cache will not affect your account data, progress, or XP, as all of that is securely stored on our servers.
