Ilm Al Lughah is committed to making our quizzes accessible to all learners, regardless of ability or learning style. We have implemented several accessibility features to ensure that every student can engage with our quiz content effectively. Here is an overview of the available accessibility options and how to use them.
Text and Display Options: You can adjust the font size of quiz questions and answers using the accessibility settings on your profile page. Options include small, medium, large, and extra-large text. High-contrast mode is available for students with visual impairments, providing sharp contrast between text and background colors. Arabic text is always displayed in a clear, easily readable font with sufficient size for diacritical marks (harakat) to be visible.
Timing and Pacing: For timed quizzes, extended time accommodations are available. You can request additional time through your profile settings, which applies a time multiplier (1.5x or 2x) to all timed assessments. If timing is a significant barrier, you can also switch timed quizzes to untimed mode for practice purposes. Audio questions include a replay button so you can listen as many times as needed.
Input and Navigation: All quizzes are fully navigable using keyboard controls — Tab to move between options, Enter to select, and arrow keys to navigate within matching exercises. For students who find typing Arabic challenging, fill-in-the-blank questions offer a character palette that lets you click or tap Arabic letters and diacritical marks instead of typing. Screen reader compatibility is built into our quiz system, with descriptive labels on all interactive elements. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, please reach out to our support team — we are continuously working to improve accessibility across the platform.
