Your Right to Be Forgotten
You have the right to request complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data from Ilm Al Lughah at any time. We respect this right fully, regardless of your location or the reason for your request. When you request data deletion, we will remove all personally identifiable information associated with your account from our active systems.
What Gets Deleted
Upon processing your deletion request, the following data will be permanently removed: your profile information (name, email, profile picture), learning progress (completed lessons, quiz scores, XP, streaks, badges), flashcard data (custom decks, review history, confidence ratings), notification preferences and history, and any community contributions made under your account. After deletion, this data cannot be recovered.
How to Request Deletion
To request data deletion, you can: 1) Go to your Account Settings and click "Delete My Account" — this initiates the process directly from the platform. 2) Alternatively, email privacy@ilmallughah.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your Google account. We will verify your identity before processing the request to ensure no one else can delete your data.
Deletion Timeline
Data deletion requests are processed within 30 days of verification. During this period, your account will be deactivated (you won't be able to log in), and after the 30-day window, all your personal data will be permanently removed from our active databases. Some anonymized, non-identifiable data may remain in aggregate analytics (e.g., "500 users completed this lesson") as it cannot be linked back to you. Backup copies are purged within 90 days of the deletion date.
