Launching the Living the Sunnah Program

Introducing our new program that connects Arabic learning with daily Prophetic traditions.

Arabic Learning with Purpose

We're proud to introduce "Living the Sunnah" — a unique program that bridges Arabic language learning with the practical application of Prophetic traditions (Sunnah) in daily life. Many learners come to Arabic with the goal of understanding Islamic texts in their original language, and this program is designed specifically for that purpose. It's a first-of-its-kind offering that combines language instruction with spiritual growth.

What the Program Covers

The Living the Sunnah program includes: Daily Adhkar (supplications) — learn the Arabic text, meaning, and pronunciation of daily supplications taught by the Prophet ﷺ, from morning and evening adhkar to specific duas for daily activities. Hadith Study — read and understand short hadith in the original Arabic, with vocabulary breakdown, grammar analysis, and explanation of the teaching. Seerah Vocabulary — build vocabulary related to the Prophetic biography through engaging lessons and stories.

How It Works

The program is structured as a daily practice alongside your regular Arabic courses. Each day, you'll receive a short lesson (5-10 minutes) featuring an authentic supplication or hadith. The lesson breaks down the Arabic text word by word, explains the grammar using concepts from Sarf and Nahw, and provides the meaning and context. Flashcards are automatically generated for the vocabulary in each lesson, and these are integrated into your regular spaced repetition review schedule.

Start Living the Sunnah

The Living the Sunnah program is available now in the Courses section of the platform. Like everything on Ilm Al Lughah, it's completely free. The program is suitable for learners at any level — beginners will benefit from the vocabulary and basic grammar, while intermediate and advanced students will appreciate the deeper grammatical analysis and ability to read hadith in the original Arabic. We believe this program embodies the true purpose of learning Arabic — connecting with the words of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.
