Tracking Flashcard Mastery

How to monitor your flashcard mastery levels and measure your vocabulary growth over time.

Ilm Al Lughah provides comprehensive flashcard analytics so you can track your mastery progress over time. Understanding these metrics helps you make informed decisions about your study habits and celebrate your growing Arabic knowledge.

The Flashcard Dashboard shows several key metrics at a glance: total cards in your collection, cards by difficulty level (New, Learning, Reviewing, Mastered), your daily review completion rate, and your average accuracy over the past 7 and 30 days. These numbers give you an instant snapshot of your flashcard health.

The mastery chart is particularly useful. It shows the percentage of your cards in each difficulty tier over time. A healthy learning trajectory shows the "Mastered" percentage gradually increasing while "New" and "Learning" percentages decrease. If you see the "Learning" pile growing without cards moving to "Reviewing" or "Mastered," it may be a sign that you're adding new cards too quickly.

You can also view statistics for individual decks. This is helpful when you want to assess your progress in specific areas, such as Sarf vocabulary vs. Nahw grammar rules. Use these per-deck insights to allocate your study time where it's needed most — focusing on decks with the lowest mastery rates while maintaining your strengths in well-mastered areas.
