Our Tajweed course on Ilm Al Lughah is designed as a comprehensive, structured journey from complete beginner to proficient reciter. The course is divided into five progressive levels, each building upon the knowledge and skills developed in the previous one. Whether you are picking up the Quran for the first time or refining an existing recitation, this roadmap will guide you to your goals, inshaAllah.
Level 1: Foundations covers the Arabic alphabet, basic letter recognition, and an introduction to the concept of Makharij (articulation points). You will learn how to pronounce each of the 28 letters correctly and begin identifying the five major articulation areas. Level 2: Letter Characteristics dives into Sifaat Al-Huroof, teaching you the qualities that make each letter unique. You will study heavy vs. light letters, the concept of Qalqalah, and begin applying these concepts to short Quranic passages.
Level 3: Core Tajweed Rules is where you learn the most frequently applied rules: Noon Sakinah & Tanween (Ith-haar, Idghaam, Iqlaab, Ikhfaa), Meem Sakinah rules, Laam rules, and Ghunnah. Each rule is taught with extensive Quranic examples and practiced through interactive quizzes. Level 4: Madd & Advanced Rules covers all types of elongation (Madd), stopping and starting rules (Waqf & Ibtidaa), and other advanced concepts like Tafkheem & Tarqeeq of specific letters.
Level 5: Applied Tajweed brings everything together. You will practice reciting complete Surahs with all Tajweed rules applied, work through common mistake corrections, and take comprehensive assessments. By the end of this level, you should be able to recite any passage of the Quran with proper Tajweed, inshaAllah.
Each level includes lessons with audio, written explanations, practice exercises, and end-of-unit quizzes. You earn XP and badges as you progress, and the platform tracks your completion percentage for each level. We recommend spending at least 15-20 minutes per day on the course for optimal progress.
