End-of-Unit Assessments

Learn about the comprehensive assessments at the end of each course unit and how to prepare for them.

End-of-unit assessments are comprehensive quizzes that appear at the conclusion of each unit (or chapter) in a course. Unlike individual lesson quizzes that focus on a single topic, these assessments test your understanding of all the material covered in the entire unit. They serve as checkpoints to ensure you have solidly grasped the unit's content before moving on to the next one.

Each end-of-unit assessment typically contains 15-25 questions and includes a mix of question types: multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and sometimes audio-based questions for Tajweed courses. The questions are drawn from across all lessons in the unit, and they often require you to apply knowledge from multiple lessons together. For example, a Tajweed unit assessment might present a Quranic verse and ask you to identify multiple rules being applied simultaneously.

To pass an end-of-unit assessment, you need to score at least 70%. Scoring below this threshold triggers a recommendation to review specific lessons before retaking the assessment. However, the course content remains fully accessible — you are not locked out of future units based on assessment scores. We trust you to make the best decision for your learning, but we strongly recommend achieving at least 70% before proceeding.

Achieving a high score (90%+) on an end-of-unit assessment earns you a special badge and bonus XP. These assessments are also weighted more heavily in your overall course progress percentage. To prepare, we recommend: reviewing lesson summaries and key terms for each lesson in the unit, retaking any lesson quizzes where you scored below 80%, using the flashcard system to review vocabulary and concepts, and practicing with the quiz review mode to reinforce areas you previously found challenging.
