Keyboard Shortcuts & Quick Actions

Speed up your learning with keyboard shortcuts and quick action tips for the platform.

Keyboard shortcuts can significantly speed up your navigation and learning experience on Ilm Al Lughah. These shortcuts are designed to let you move through lessons, quizzes, and flashcards without taking your hands off the keyboard.

Global Shortcuts

  • Ctrl + K (or ⌘ + K on Mac): Open the quick search/command palette to find any lesson, course, or page.
  • Ctrl + B: Toggle the sidebar navigation open or closed.
  • Ctrl + /: Open the keyboard shortcuts help overlay.

Lesson & Quiz Shortcuts

  • → (Right Arrow): Navigate to the next section or question within a lesson.
  • ← (Left Arrow): Go back to the previous section or question.
  • 1, 2, 3, 4: Select answer options in multiple-choice quizzes.
  • Enter: Submit your answer or advance to the next step.
  • S: Skip the current flashcard (during review sessions).

Flashcard Shortcuts

  • Spacebar: Flip the current flashcard to reveal the answer.
  • 1: Mark as "Again" (did not remember).
  • 2: Mark as "Hard" (partially remembered).
  • 3: Mark as "Good" (remembered correctly).
  • 4: Mark as "Easy" (knew it instantly).

You can view the full list of shortcuts at any time by pressing Ctrl + / or by visiting the Settings page. Keyboard shortcuts are only active on desktop browsers and do not apply to mobile devices.
